Greyson Cole
Brandon + Meredith Cole are our Pastors and have ministered so much into our lives and marriage. When Meredith asked me to shoot baby Grey's newborn session I was so thrilled to be spending the day with them and doing an In-Home Lifestyle Session with their newest little addition. The homey, authentic, relaxed nature of in-home lifestyle sessions suit their personalities to a T, and I am grateful that the Coles trusted me to document the connection and love they all have for this new life.
I remember Brandon telling the story of finding their gem of a home, and how it was once trashed and uncared for before another couple purchased the house and gave it life again. The wife was an interior designer and the renovations were amazing! Shortly after completing the home renovations a new business opportunity arose for the couple to move out of state and the house was put back onto the market. When Brandon + Meredith saw the listing online, they saw photos only of what the house looked like prior to the renovations, but scheduled a viewing anyhow. Needless to say, they were taken back by the beauty of the house and have since made it their home. Every home has a story, and that is why I love doing in-home sessions, because the images really capture the role that the home plays in the family.
Big brother, Cason, was one month shy of 3 years old and he did so good! I tried to rotate family shots with times where I would capture photos of only Greyson or Mom+Dad so that Cason could have frequent breaks. He loved coming in to check on his baby brother which was SO incredibly sweet.
I love photographing newborn sessions in client’s homes because it is so much less stress than getting everyone out of the house. If someone needs a snack, the kitchen is right there. In fact, Brandon briefly left the home to pick up some lunch for the family, while I continued photographing baby Grey and Meredith. And, when Baby Grey was hungry, Mom nursed him, while I photographed Cason. It makes for a much more enjoyable session when you can be in the comfort of your own home.
It was wonderful getting to spend a few hours on a Friday morning with the Cole family. These moments are to live for!
