Chris + Laramie | North Texas Summer Wedding

Chris + Laramie have been ten years in the making and this summer they said, "I do" at the gorgeous Walter Estates mansion, The Milestone, in Aubrey, Texas with their dearest friends, relatives and their daughter, Evie in attendance. I recall the tears that flooded Evie's eyes as she watched her mother walk down the aisle in her stunning Essence of Australia gown. Evie had been waiting her entire life for her mother to become a Rivera and the day was finally here.

Laramie shared with me the moment that led the two of them to their wedding day. While walking through the discipleship course, Rooted, at their church, Chris + Laramie got on stage to give their personal testimony written out largely on a cardboard sign. Chris used that opportunity to also incorporate a surprise for Laramie. After Laramie revealed her testimony, Chris walked onto the stage with his testimony. The front of his sign read that he "struggled with commitment", but was now committed to Christ and when he turned his testimony sign over it continued with, "and my future WIFE if she says, 'YES!'" After hearing a loud cheer from friends and family, Laramie turned to read the sign in complete awe and surprise. Chris dropped down on one knee and said these words to Laramie, "I want to thank you for signing me up for Rooted, because I wouldn't be here today without it. I want to thank you for always believing in me and never giving up on me. Will you marry me?" Wow! What a sweet surprise proposal. I absolutely love seeing God working in the hearts and lives of others.

From Chris' late father's hat that sat on it's own special seat during the ceremony to Laramie's late grandmother's garter that was passed down, everything about the Rivera wedding was thoroughly thought out and planned to keep loved ones close to the heart and a special part of their union.
